In conjunction with the PGA of America’s Family Golf Month, The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon has been offering a Family Fun Golf evening every Sunday in July. For only $15 per person, family members get to play six holes of golf followed by a picnic dinner on the golfers patio.
In addition to the regular tee boxes, we’ve set up 150-yard tee boxes for the younger golfers. It’s a non-competitive and family friendly structure. We’ve even seen parents and grandparents participate. Golf begins at 5 pm with dinner following around 7 pm.
The first Sundy there were about 24 participants. The second Sunday we saw an increase to 34 participants. For the next two Sundays we expect a sold out crowd of 40 players.
All the family members really seem to enjoy the outing. Where else can you find entertainment and dinner for a family of four for under $60?
Obviously the goal of the golf course is not to make money. Instead we hope to promote growing the game of golf and provide some exposure for the golf course at the same time.
